The partnership with Princes
Voyage began through close collaboration with Princes Primary School, a specialist setting in Liverpool. The first product grew from their own assessment practice and from day-to-day work with school leaders and classroom staff.
Princes returns to the newest version in September 2026. This autumn, we’ll also spend time with other special schools to learn what they share, where they differ and where Voyage can genuinely help.

From the founder
Hi, I'm Tom — founder and creator of Voyage.
My journey began in social care, where I spent years working on mission-critical systems for local authorities and software suppliers. That experience shaped a belief I still hold strongly today: software should work for professionals, not the other way around.
The best systems reflect the way people really work. They support judgement, reduce duplication, protect sensitive information, and have a positive impact on the people using them — and the people they are there to help.
After leaving the supplier world, I went on to build software across a wide range of sectors, developing the skills and perspective needed to create thoughtful, modern systems from the ground up.
When Princes Primary School came calling, it felt like coming home. Their work with children with complex needs immediately connected with everything I had learned in social care: the importance of trust, relationships, careful recording, professional judgement, and the team around each person.
Voyage grew from that partnership. It is being built with schools, not just for them — shaped around real practice, real workflows, and the belief that every child's journey deserves to be understood and celebrated.

What is Voyage for Schools?
Voyage is a staff-facing SEND planning, assessment and learning-record platform developed with Princes Primary School. It brings pupil profiles, EHCP-linked planning, evidence, assessment, forms and team processes together in one place. -
Is Voyage designed for special schools?
Yes. Voyage has been designed and built with a specialist setting. It already supports person-centred profiles, EHCP-linked planning, evidence-based assessment, learning records, configured forms, approvals and staff worktrays. -
Can mainstream schools use Voyage?
Potentially. Voyage has been developed around specialist-school practice, but many of its tools may also suit mainstream schools with a strong SEND offer. We’d want to understand your setting before suggesting it is a good fit. -
How does Voyage support professional judgement?
Voyage helps staff organise information, connect evidence with planning and assessment, and surface optional suggestions. The staff who know the child remain responsible for every judgement and decision. -
How does Voyage support EHCP outcomes?
Voyage connects EHCP outcomes to goals and practical targets. Staff set and review those targets using their professional judgement, while learning records and assessment evidence build the wider picture around them. -
Can Voyage help with annual reviews?
Voyage brings planning, learning records, assessment evidence, forms and decisions into one pupil record, so relevant information is easier to find. A dedicated review-pack tool is not yet available. -
Can schools use their own curriculum frameworks?
Voyage includes frameworks from pre-formal through formal learning, including the Engagement Model. Additional frameworks, qualifiers and forms can be configured with a school during setup; school users cannot yet build every type themselves in the interface. -
Does Voyage support interventions or provision mapping?
Voyage does not yet include a complete provision-mapping module. It already connects pupil profiles, outcomes, goals, targets, learning records, assessment and school forms. We’d like to learn with schools how it should support time-bounded provision and interventions. -
What are intelligent suggestions?
Voyage includes an optional, early-stage tool that can rank relevant framework statements from a written observation. Staff always make the decision. It does not generate EHCP targets, next steps or support strategies. -
What are learning records and Moments?
Learning records capture progress as it happens using written observations, photos or video. Voyage uses 'Moments' as a friendly way to describe the meaningful events those records preserve. -
Can families see learning records?
No. Direct family access is not yet available. We’d like to explore safe, school-controlled sharing with schools in the future. -
How can my school work with Voyage?
